Prof.. Dr. Axel Koch – about risks and side effects in personnel selection
May 3, 2012 in General
Today an interesting comment from Professor. Dr. Axel Koch to our article Blue Card.
Interesting in this context is a study of Nachtwei & Schermuly to the practice of personnel selection.
The two researchers have found, that about 70% von kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen und 58% von Großunternehmen für die Personalauswahl das sog. “Unstructured Interview” use. This has, however, with about 4% The worst hit rate. Much more reliable in predicting the other hand, are a "structured interview" with 25% (how to z. B. can also make using the starch method transfer) or a writing sample (29%) or aptitude tests (Personality, Intelligence) with 36%. Most effectively it is a combination of these methods.
And if you're thinking, that 25% – 36% is not so much, then you just think of the word "risks and side effects in drugs". If the prediction would be here, that in 25% of cases to deaths is, would you ignore this information in any case.
So my tip: Solid selection of personnel to make, scientific knowledge is based on the psychological.
